An aluminum plate is a versatile item. It can be used in the manufacturing, industrial, construction, and transportation industries. It offers incredible structure and attractive finishing touches, making it an overall great choice. It’s low density and lightweight make it a great option. Aluminum plates are measured by their thickness in inches.
Flat Plate Metal Wall Panels
Flat plate metal wall panels use metal plates, allowing the final result to be much stronger than the other system types. The system includes 1/8-inch-thick metal plates that are bent to the desired profile. Stiffeners and support structures can be added to the flat plate for further support.
All About Aluminum
Aluminum is one of the most popular metal types. From bikes to buildings, aluminum can fit just about any need. It is attractive, durable, and affordable, making it a favorite among many. Although you’ve probably heard of aluminum, you might not know about it in any detail.
Aluminum is one of the most abundant metals on earth. As a result, it is highly affordable. At the same time, it is attractive and aesthetically pleasing because of its silver finish. This makes your finished product look sleek and attractive despite its more affordable price.
Another attribute that makes aluminum so desirable is that it is a low-density metal, meaning that it is lightweight. Since aluminum has such a low density, it won’t be too heavy for your plans. The aerospace industry uses aluminum panels frequently for this reason. Other transportation fields also take advantage of this lightweight metal. Similarly, many food, chemical handling, and architectural industries use aluminum due to its corrosion resistance.
Aluminum can be alloyed or unalloyed. This means that you can enhance the aluminum by adding other metallic alloying elements to it. Alloyed aluminum is typically stronger and more durable than unalloyed. In contrast, unalloyed aluminum is ductile, moderately strong, and resistant to most instances of corrosion.
Aluminum Plate Grades
Aluminum plate grades are separated into numerical categories. These categories tell you exactly what alloying elements are used with the aluminum, allowing you to find the alloyed aluminum perfect for your projects and structure. Below are the most popular aluminum plate grades.
We offer five anodizing materials to add to your structure. This includes aluminum, zinc, copper, stainless steel, and iron. These materials provide a durable, resistant, and affordable option for making your project stand firm against the elements and weight. We also offer our aluminum plate panels in wet and dry joint applications. These options allow you to construct the structure of your dreams.
Wet vs Dry Joint Applications
The joint type typically determines panel systems. We at Tuschall Engineering want to provide our clients with options to make their structure as perfect as possible. That is why we offer both wet and dry joint applications.
Wet joint systems have a backer rod and sealant in the joint. This offers additional water penetration protection. Dry joints, on the other hand, do not include a backer rod or sealant. Instead, they employ a filler strip. Rainscreen systems typically have dry joints.
